So here’s the last two pages of the book Ben Smash! that I made for Free Comic Book Day. The whole book was just a fun non-sensical thing that I put out with very little thought (or effort) put into story. That last two pages were drawn by my good friend Corey Bernhardt, because I wanted the jump from my comic art to a more realistic version of the store owner Ben. I think it came out really well and it makes me happy that I could get a few of my friends to do things in the book to hopefully get their stuff out there to the 5 people that check out this blog. I got Corey to draw the last two pages, my friend Nu has his pudgy face in the bottom corner of page 14 saying “Toasty” and my friend Junior Bruce did a pin up for the books back cover.

Other than that, I’ve been really getting away from the grind of the blog and doing a lot of comic work because I’m just burnt out. I needed time to regain my sanity and for my hand to stop shaking when I go to ink a page. But I think I’m good now…so I’m hoping to be able to get shit up on here more often. Well after this weekend because I’m heading to Arizona for the weekend. I may be deported though because I hear they hate Mexicans there.

I was going to post the rest of this, but I’ve let Ben Schwartz post it first. That way it can hopefully earn me some followers in the area in which I live. I really don’t know anyone local who draws or reads comics. I should prolly work harder on changing that. But what can you do? Only so many hours in the day and Youporn is just chock full of minutes and tissues to waste.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Ben Schwartz and despite looking like an older version of Edward Norton in American History X in the photograph, Ben Schwartz is one of the nicest guys you can meet. Not only that he owns my local comic book store in Sacramento, Empires Comic Vault.

A month or so back I began bothering Ben incessantly to let me grow a giant beard out so we can rub our beards together and make some sort of fetish gay movie called Beard Porn.

Not only did he not graciously accept my invitation like any real man would, he deleted the post from his Facebook and was really freaked out by it. So that being said, it’s fueled my fire of just obsessing over beard porn with Ben (which may have killed the podcast that I appeared on with him, unless episode 8 goes up.) and decided to make an entire comic about Ben and his manly beard.

Ben now has a restraining order against me.
